The wiki for Kazamaki Matsuri (female) has a peculiar clause: she should only be tagged as genderswap_(mtf) if her male self is also present in the image.
After reading this, I wondered why this rule wasn't also used for other genderswap-centric series. Oyama Mahiro is on the same boat as Matsuri; she spends almost the entire series as a female, and her male form is only seen a few times (way less than Matsuri's male form). Out of 5500 posts, less than 2000 are tagged genderswap.
Ranma-chan is markedly different because she constantly swaps back and forth with her male form, and neither can be said to be the main one in terms of protagonism. However, Ranma's genderbending condition is still a principal trait of his that is consistent throughout the series. Out of 2300 posts, less than 700 are tagged genderswap.
My opinion is that tagging these characters with genderswap is a bit tautological. By the same logic characters from Kantai Collection or Girls' Frontline don't get tagged with personification, I feel like there's no need to tag genderswap on characters whose entire identity is based on the concept (caution, I'm not saying this should apply to every official genderbending, only the ones central to the premise).
