Adjusting implications for F/sn spinoffs

Posted under Tags

BUR #33206 has been rejected.

create implication fate/hollow_ataraxia -> fate/stay_night
create implication fate/tiger_colosseum -> fate/stay_night
create implication fate/unlimited_codes -> fate/stay_night
create implication emiya-san_chi_no_kyou_no_gohan -> fate/stay_night
remove implication fate/hollow_ataraxia -> fate_(series)
remove implication fate/tiger_colosseum -> fate_(series)
remove implication fate/unlimited_codes -> fate_(series)
remove implication emiya-san_chi_no_kyou_no_gohan -> fate_(series)

With how many spinoffs Fate as a whole has, it's probably worth directly implying the things that are set in the same setting as the original F/sn.

- Hollow Ataraxia is the direct sequel to F/sn
- Tiger Colosseum and Unlimited Codes exclusively feature characters from F/sn and F/ha, along with a few new variants & costumes for existing characters (most famously Saber Lion and Saber Lily). No characters are borrowed from other fate entries (cuz the other entries didnt rly exist yet)
- Emiya Gohan was created much later but focuses on the setting of F/sn now with more cooking.

If these are approved, they should remove the fate (series) implication so it doesn't show up twice.

The tag is more of a meta tag for the fate (series) and anything that is associated with it, including all of the spin offs. It would make more sense to make to make this a parent tag and have anything that is associated with fate refer to it. That said given that this tag was made well before that function.... I don't know how easy or hard that will be.

Are you saying all of fate_(series) should imply fate/stay_night just because f/sn is the the first entry in the fate timeline? Because if that's what you mean, that's a pretty stupid opinion

I think the idea is that these are all directly connected to the original Fate/Stay Night timeline, while others like Fate/Apocypha, Fate/Extra, Fate/Grand Order etc. are different timelines.

Also, if Hollow Ataraxia is allowed, where does it stop? For instance, Fate/Zero is Fate/Stay Night's prequel, and lord_el-melloi_ii_case_files also takes place in the same timeline.

I would either remove F/HA from the BUR, or make a new tag altogether.

F/ha takes place 6 months after F/sn, placing it in just about the same timeframe & setting. I never considered adding F/Z and El-Melloi because those take place years before or after the events of F/sn and all the shared characters have radically different designs. I do understand the apprehension though.

I want to make an argument over the nature of the setting (All of it taking place in a sort of mental space), but leaving that aside, it features a few characters that do not appear in F/SN, most notably Caren, Angra and Bazett. There are also a few key events like post #8268650, for instance, that never happen (also because in F/SN Lancer dies one way or another in any route anyways lol)

I see the idea and I don't dislike it. However I do believe that this just dilutes the fate/stay night tag into a mess of many different source materials.

Fate Zero is technically not Fate Stay Night's prequel, its a parallel universe/world/timeline according to Nasu and side materials.
