Mass updating the tag, we don't have a tag for NijiGTA and using just "GTA" and "Hololive" copyrights work as fine

We've been getting an influx of images with outfits and events from the Hololive:GTA collab that have nothing to do, or do not feature anything from Grand Theft Auto V.
We don't group posts from Enigmatic Recollection under Minecraft either, unless actual Minecraft characters or settings are present.

Not really, Enigmatic Recollection is also it's own copyright, it has it's own merch

I'm ambivalent on this tag existing, but vehemently against the suggested alternative...

Posts with no direct relation to Grand Theft Auto should absolutely not be tagged as such. The same way the majority of Minecraft YouTube posts aren't tagged Minecraft because they have nothing to do with the game. (1.1k MCYT posts vs a mere 177 also tagged Minecraft. People searching Minecraft don't want to see it, and neither do people searching GTA want to see random VTubers.)

It's just an alternate costume, and no it wouldn't, there's nothing in here that says "GTAV" as it's just Biboo wearing a cop outfit

If we take the decision to not also tag GTAV, that's going to have a massive ripple effect on many tags on Danbooru, as several games are represented majorily by VTuber fanart by the VTuber playing the game. Something like post #7771264 was explicitly based on the two VTubers playing Bread and Fred, but unlike the only other post tagged with that tag, post #6405790 (with the background), the post has nothing suggesting it's Bread and Fred. There's tons more posts like this across various VTubers.

No.

After thinking it over I've come to take more of a neutral stance on whether this is a necessary tag. That being said if we do want to go through with getting rid of it, would a regular nuking not work better than a mass update? Everything tagged with HoloGTA already has the appropriate copyright tags for hololive posts anyways.

That was the plan before, but half the stuff that are upped based on the RP isn't tagged with GTA V on it (so it's really just GTA that isn't tagged)

How would folks searching for HoloGTA fanart be able to find it then? It's either having a separate tag as Gabe made, or having Grand Theft Auto V on all the posts (which they don't).

Fair point. I could see the separate tag working for things original to the RP (sticker/loading screen art, the police uniforms, art based on stream moments, etc) even if GTA proper isn't referenced.

I don't like the idea of tagging a bunch of not-really-related posts with the GTA V tag, so having a tag sounds good to me. I don't see why it should be a copytag though, just a gentag for this "theme" should suffice.

I agree the tags should be separated so we don't pollute the GTA V tag with vtubers that has nothing referencing GTA V. I am neutral on changing the category because I think it's fine as-is, but I don't care either way as long as there's a tag.

There is post #8186571 with the characters driving an ambulance with a livery from the game, I think the Grand Theft Auto tag should remain in there.

We could always like... tag Grand Theft Auto based on if there's elements from the game in there, and not tag it when it's just the Holo girls in HoloGTA-themed art.

If a tag is not appropriate, how about a collection pool?

Worth noting that Mythbreakers exists as a tag for the World of Darkness campaign the Myth girls did fairly early on. I would assume that this tag could be justified similarly since it's a roleplay thing
