splitting offering_hand

create alias offering_hand -> offering_hand_to_viewer
remove alias offering_hand -> offering_hand_to_viewer
deprecate offering_hand

This concept has been tagged under an ambiguous name for a while now, enough for me to find a decent number of mistags and have the idea that there's probably several more times this worth of untagged posts by people who happened to read the wiki.

I've already created offering hand to another and populated it a little, during which I became concerned with potential imminent hand holding overlap. However, there are enough differences between pulling up, pulling down, and pulling along(?) as opposed to obvious imminent hand holding (1), (2), that I don't think the issue is serious.

If the need ever arose, I would be more in favor of aliasing imminent hand holding to offering hand to another, because of the wider utility of the latter and pattern it fits with offering hand (to viewer).

Not always. And besides, it's a good idea to distinguish between characters offering the viewer their hand as opposed to stuff like incoming hug, incoming food, and this.

What if the offering hand were both for character-viewer, and for character-character interactions? (Also the carry me tag, legalize post #570087.) And offering hand + reaching_towards_viewer and offering_hand -reaching_towards_viewer would do your distinction.
