I really don't want to enable yet another offshoot of official alternate costume. We don't need a hierarchy that's three tags deep (official alternate costume -> identity_(project_moon) -> n_corp._(identity)_(project_moon)) when other copyrights do just fine with a single chartag.
I can understand the appeal of a tag for what is practically monster parts being worn as clothes or held as weapons (e.g.o_(project_moon)), but an umbrella tag for just alternate costumes is too much.
That is not what they are though?
Identity shouldn't imply official alternate costume.
post #7469379 plays with identities but none of those are official, nor the post would get a faction tag.

Hi all.
I wanted to talk about n_corp._(identity)_(project_moon) because of the upcoming update.
Just like the wiki predicted, Project Moon seems to be updating their terminology to "N Corp. Fanatic" because they may be intending to introduce more N. Corp identities in the future that aren't part of their specific sub-group, so I suggest we update accordingly.
I'm not filing this as a request yet for multiple reasons:
1. There are two options here: We can go with the term slated to be used in-game or we can go for the lore term of "N. Corp Inquisition" and I was wondering which one we should use.
2. The tag includes over 200 posts and therefore wouldn't be considered a "rename" request, so I don't really know what we'd request it as since I'm still fairly new to how this site works.
3. I didn't want to file a request unilaterally since I've been seeing you guys working hard together to try to organize all the Limbus Company-related content and didn't want to step on anyone's toes.

If you want to change the name of a tag with over 200 posts then you have to alias it. The alias can then be removed if needed. (This is to avoid having users suddenly not being able to find a tag anymore, however in this case it can be safely unaliased shortly afterwards since the tag name is niche, similar enough, and would cause confusion if kept aliased and new n corp ids came out)

While on the subject of E.G.O, would it be a good idea to add a gen tag for Distortion? (And/or e.g.o corrosion, albeit I would consider simply adding the char tag of the abno in addition to the usual ego tags would suffice)
To summarize, Distortion is essentially when someone falls into despair and transforms into a monstrous/distorted version of themselves (e.g post #6890487 Distorted Argalia (project moon) post #5501378 Distored Yan vismok post #6133487 all members of the Reverb Ensemble). Similar but different from someone who manifests e.g.o.
E.G.O Corrosion is essentially a middle point between e.g.o and distortion. A person who uses e.g.o when in a poor mental state may transform into a form similar to the original abno the e.g.o came from (post #7639369). I don't think it'll be necessary to make an entirely new tag for corrosion, since as the character transforms into a form similar to an already existing abnormality the abno char tag can simply be used.
Adding a gen tag for distortion would make it easier for users looking for either undistorted/distorted forms of a character (e.g philip (project moon), jae-heon, dongrang (project moon)). It would also be good to add now, since the story of Limbus Company is introducing more distortions so adding the tag now would make it less tedious to tag later (along with the fact that there's only a handful of distortions currently, mainly consisting of the Reverb Ensemble so it shouldn't be too much of a hassle to tag as of now).
The only problem I can think of right now is what constitutes a distortion. Kromer (project moon) transforms but isn't explicitly stated to be a distortion and bloodfiends (basically project moon's version of vampires) are technically distortions which makes things a bit confusing.
There are also characters who are almost or exclusively only seen as distortions, such as papa bongy (project moon) or the Time Ripper, which makes the tag slightly redundant for them.

We now have a tag for both Erlking Heathcliff and Wild Hunt Heathcliff.
For the uninitiated: they're both alternate versions of Heathcliff. The first is the antagonist of the main storyline. The second is the playable version (identity), who has a slightly different backstory and design.
If we want to continue what we are doing, we want to alias wild hunt heath to wuthering heights (identity) (project moon), since it's part of the same universe.
A similar option would be to do that and rename wuthering heights (identity) (project moon) to wild hunt (identity) (project moon), but I think it would become even less clear.

I think having a general tag for Distortions would be beneficial, personally. As long as you can tell it's meant to be a Distortion (whether because it's an official Distorted form, or the artist makes a note that they are drawing a Distortion), and don't go crazy tagging it on bloodfiends, I don't see the harm. I haven't been keeping up with Limbus Company, but if its toying more with them, then it'd definitely be in our best interest to have a gentag you can search for them with before we get flooded and it becomes nigh-impossible to sort through for the average member. Not sure what to do about characters who we mainly see in their Distorted form. Tagging them with this hypothetical tag will allow for us to search for artistic depictions of what their human forms may have looked like though, so...
On another note, is it safe to start attempting to rally E.G.O set tags and get them implied to the main tag? This whole situation has been very chaotic and I don't want to do anything stupid.

A BUR for it was pushed before, but it didn't get approved despite positive reception (I assume because it also contained the creation of an umbrella Identity tag, and what NNT said about Identities)
I think you could try making an EGO-only BUR and see what happens?

+1 to that, I've been tagging some of those posts as E.g.o, but it should be easy to fix.
About ego corrosion: any option is fine with me. I've been adding the abno name as suggested above for a while, but a separate tag could be useful.
Now, I have a question, since we *did* tag Philip's personal ego, waxen pinion, should we tag sinner's base egos? They're way more alternate costume-y.
