BUR #28677 has been rejected.
mass update sleeves_past_wrists -long_sleeves -detached_sleeves -short_sleeves -> long_sleeves
There are about 48k posts tagged with sleeves past wrists that arent tagged with long sleeves. this mass update should reduce the bulk of those posts and making gardening the remainder 6k that ARE tagged with detached sleeves much easier to sort through
There's probably some false positives and negatives, but it seems likely that with this bur we're left with less mistagged posts overall. I still find myself forgetting long sleeves with /spw.
To assume that all instances of sleeves_past_wrists are long_sleeves just because they lack the detached/short tags seems like an oversight. There's no guarantee that it holds true without checking manually, and I wouldn't vote for a BUR which exchanges missing tags for incorrect tags in certain cases.

How are you going to tag short sleeves with sleeves past wrists? It doesn't make sense!
I've looked through sleeves_past_wrists -long_sleeves -detached_sleeves -short_sleeves ai:detached_sleeves (which returns less than 200 results) and there were a few I found that were missing detached sleeves. So this BUR isn't perfect because posts that aren't properly tagged with detached sleeves will be tagged as long sleeves.
The possible false positives I've found are two posts that are typos of sleeves past elbows, and posts like post #5430767 that is instead should be tagged as a partially fingerless gloves. I still personally think this BUR should go through because all correctly tagged posts I found (which seems to be most of them) should be tagged as long sleeves.

unfortunately it's the only solution — such is the nature of tag gardening;
if missing tags was a problem which could be solved by optimistic BURs we would see them being approved all the time;
rather, these kinds of mass-updates are typically crafted in a way which leaves no room for error, or are proposed in cases where users have already done manual work to ensure all the changes will be correct.

Ok so I've gone through and tagged what was needed in your search, the only ones left are banned posts which I cannot see.
BUR #29037 has been approved by @nonamethanks.

updated to exclude arm warmers, there were about 60 posts that were included in the original BUR
