Implications for new (except bird) tags. Broader "scientific" names were chosen to avoid issues with "this character is a goat, should I tag sheep skull" etc.
"Ram_skull" exists but has no wiki and isn't that visually distinct from goat imo.
It's worth noting sheep and goat skulls seem pretty equally used (and both sheep and goats have some religious significance) so either could have been the name. Personally I would prefer broader names for reason such as this, but I can also see the logic behind wanting more intuitive tags.
Why we even need these umbrella tags is beyond me. Who is going to search for bovine_skull over the actual animal, or even know what a "cervid" is? This is the sort of thing we laugh at e621 for. BUR #26522 in particular is especially egregious, as it would leave us with only those tags.

Hi zapdos, this was discussed in the discord here https://discord.com/channels/310432830138089472/310833975079993350/1241865027309404222. TLDR broader scientific names to avoid the inevitable mistaggs regarding "um actually this is a goat not a sheep" and similar issues. It's a lot easier to tell apart a deer skull from a sheep skull than a sheep skull from a goat skull or deer skull from a moose skull.
Kind of silly using real life criteria to distinguish the minute differences in skulls in fictional draws when they don't even have to care or abide by reality, such as the "cat skull" in post #6614679.
I said it in the Discord post linked above, but I do see value in having say mammel_skull, bird_skull, and any large grouping since they look very different. The cow vs sheep and more specific ones look indistinguishable to me though especially without horns so I'm not confident in my ability to tag those accurately.
Uh? This bur was made an approved before getting any votes and most similar to the one people downvoted. No offense but it seems a bit of an over reach to make and instantly approve a potentially controversial bur before anyone had a say in it unless there's some discord conversation or something I'm unaware of? This bur had a bunch of different opinions and judging by the times in forum feed you literally made and approved this bur less than a minute apart.
I restored the status quo to remove the mess that you created. Feel free to submit another BUR if you disagree, surely this time it won't get -20 score and be rejected after 45 days because everyone but you hates it

Ehm, what are you talking about? You rejected both the liked and disliked alt versions of the the same thing then made and insta approved a bur in the style of the one people disliked. The sassy reply is both inaccurate and unfitting. This was discussed both here and on the discord, there's even a link directly said discord discussion in the forum.

Edit: Spoiler alert, upon further investigation this was all one big misunderstanding. NNTs bur had seemed like it was adding the tags to posts that didn't have them before (adding them to places where the new tags where used rather than just nuking the new tags) while using a naming scheme people disliked and I didn't initially realize stuff like ram skull was the og tag and then the remark about scores while the upvoted bur got rejected and your bur approved without any discussion it looked wrong. My apologies.

Are you reading these BURs, and this thread for that matter? BUR #26522 sucked because nobody needs that kind of categorization, BUR #26523 is just a bunch of utility aliases that are uselesss for the same reason. BUR #26521 was only upvoted because, well if those tags exist then they should imply that. However, they shouldn't exist, or at least nolt without some solid reasoning (Which you didn't provide. I'm talking points people agree with, not just ones you agree with).
Also, if a BUR is upvoted but sucks, it still gets rejected.
