Twisted hair misusage (+braided ponytail, multi-tied hair)

Once again. Like braided ponytail, the majority of the posts under twisted hair are incorrect, being drill hair, ringlets or just random wavy hair (Is there a difference between drill hair and ringlets?), with a Genshin character taking up 1/5 of the posts (because of her wiki).

Interestingly, the correct example I found is the same as the braided ponytail thread: Aerith Gainsborough. Apparently, her hairstyle is meant to be a twisted ponytail but is often mistakenly depicted as a braided ponytail. It looks like it's very common for artists to confuse or oversimplify braid as other hairstyle or vice versa. I was originally looking for examples of real braided ponytail to put in the wikis, but anything I found that resembles a ponytail is closer to multi-tied hair or twisted hair. Does "tag what you see" also apply here or should we stick with canon tagging?

Hoo boy, this mass mistagging of twisted hair (and braided ponytail) is the reason why some people should really make sure they're confident that they know how a tag is correctly used before they go about mass adding them to posts or add them to wikis.

The way the BUR is ordered now, those last two lines wouldn't do anything, since the tag would already be removed. The removal should happen last. You also misspelled the second line.

Just chiming in to say the difference between drill hair and ringlets is that drill hair is pointy, ringlets are not (and ringlets are an actual hairstyle created by wrapping hair around a curling iron, and drill hair is magical anime hair)

Thanks for the reply. Would you mind adding an explanation on their wikis? (I don't want to do it myself because I don't think I know them well enough to give proper examples).

I'm seeing a lot of posts tagged as both that have been for quite a while. The difference between the two seems rather nebulous in terms of how people actually use the tags.

This is just a garbage tag. It's mixing together braids (post #7542079) and drill hair (post #7620727), both things for which we already have tags.
