Should a tag I had a hand in creating be changed.

Posted under Tags

A few years back I made this comment. I hadn't thought long and hard about it, even though it's what I called it in my libraries back then. I wasn't expecting someone to actually run with it. I've since moved to calling it a "Lockjob" like "handjob", "blowjob", "thighjob", etc, because the recipient is locked in place by the benefactor's arms. Important to note that "blowjob" and "thighjob" are aliases for more succinct naming ("fellatio" and "thigh_sex"). So while "hugging_fellatio" is more sensible, I don't think it captures all of them. I made the change in my libraries because, while something like this can certainly be a type of "hug", I didn't think the original and others are really "hugs." I think "lockjob" is an easier to handle tag name, but that doesn't obviously mean its better, or even good at all. So I ask;

*Should I recommend a change?
*Should I recommend an alias?

Of course I meant to put this in tags, not general...

While you're in this thread, look at the top bar. To the right of Reply there should be written "Edit", which will allow you to edit the thread itself.

I think an intuitive tag name is far better than an obscure one made up on the spot. "Hug and suck" is simple and immediately tells you what it's for. Meanwhile "lockjob" could mean a million different things. The first thing I thought was of a hairjob done with a single hair lock, or shoving a padlock up someone's orifices.

I don't disagree there, it just felt to me like all "hug_and_suck" are "lockjobs", but not all "lockjobs" are "hug_and_suck."

BUR #28261 has been rejected.

create alias hug_and_suck -> hugging_fellatio

Well I don't think hug_and_suck is intuitive, or lockjob is obscure, or is made up on the spot. (Actually if we can believe OP, hug_and_suck is made up on the spot, while lockjob is the product of years of usage...) And I don't think that hug_and_suck is immediately telling what it's for, and lockjob isn't. Rather the exact opposite.

But here's the other suggested version.

Based on the response to this poll, seems like people would prefer it as it is.

I do for sure, easier to search and to-the-point. Thanks for creating it by the way, helped me rediscover kaminari doon and it's a good utility alias for encompassing the entire action in just one tag. "Lockjob" sounds like it was chalked on the fly and doesn't really tell me much, easy to confuse it for something else.

i kinda suspect that nonamethanks derailed the vote, and people don't intuitively think that there is a hug on

also don't intuitively think that it is a noteworthy position, which is intuitively somehow the same as

and they should have an own tag. I sure as hell don't.

Okay, I think i should leave. I have a strong opinion about this, but low stakes, i don't care about the tag, and i am fine if people that use it do whatever they want with it.
