After reading this section and seeing that the only way to upgrade your account at this point is to upload 1000 post and tag each one feels like a chore with a one time low payment. It feels so time consuming and not every image will stay up because some of them won't be approved. It's ridiculous.
It's not that bad if you pace yourself and don't devote your entire time to Danbooru (reaching unhealthy levels of obsession like some of the top post snipers is not a good move anyway) - I did it in a month while having other obligations. It's not that difficult to find lots of amazing quality artwork that hasn't been uploaded yet and I'm saying this at 152 deletions at the time of writing. I won't deny it's time consuming though even if you take your time and tagging is ehh but we don't really have other options at this time.

I have only 13 uploads, but lots of post changes over the years - mostly missing/incorrect tags, a few translations. And ironically I became a builder shortly after posting in this thread a couple moths ago, so it's not an automated process.
The usual advice applies: "It's (mostly) not the amount that matters, it matters if it's good."

That's kinda just one of those things that comes with the territory of having a moderation queue. Just have to accept that not all the artwork that you personally find good will be found good by the approvers (I feel the same).

IMO the best approach to it is to just not think about it and just keep uploading art/editing wiki pages/fixing tags, and you may eventually get that promotion.
At least that's the approach I will have to take towards it, because as of right now it feels like an almost impossible obstacle to overcome (for me).

It's important to know that even "deleted" images are still accessible to all users by searching status:deleted/status:any or by enabling "Show deleted posts" in your settings under the advanced tab.

You're actually doing well, artist tagging-wise. Don't hesitate to ask in topic #8199 if you're stuck trying to translate/transliterate artist names.

How many edits did you do before you got to builder?

As already mentioned above: the exact amount shouldn't matter.
But if you're curious: I became builder on 2024-04-02; as you can see from the statistics that comes out to 6701 post changes, 57 commentary changes, 345 pool changes, 444 comments since 2011-01-22, though very few forum posts.

The simple solution is to accept Crypto payments, plenty of options and low fees
Unfortunately this has been brought up like 30 times in the thread and the site owner has no interest in it.
I still think automated graduated levels like Zero chan are the best solution.

Curious, did the site owner ever provide a reason why not?
Crypto is a great solution for frictionless, global online payments. Don't see any downsides to it at all.

The only reason Crypto would *not* be on the table is because if you accept crypto payments the **fees** for those are killer on the senders. About a week ago average fee for a $5 transaction was over $60 if we're talking Bitcoin so it's one of those things that makes Crypto its own concern/problem.
Not to mention if you go through a legit Crypto payment processor they *also* have the same legal restrictions usually that other payment processors do, so ToS would likely flag in the same way.

Bitcoin is pretty dated tech and not suitable for small payments, I agree.
But there are plenty of alternatives such as Ethereum L2s with fees as low as fractions of a few cents.
Don't know much about the legal side of things though, but I do see many sites accepting crypto nowadays without issues.
