This tag was recently created, but it's too easily confused with inverted nipples. Opening a topic of discussion to see if it's needed and how to fix the name.
Seems fitting for most posts in pool:5924 nipples. There's also some visual overlap with inverted nipples and puffy nipples.

While nipple holes also sounds a bit odd, it's infinitely better than innie nipples, which just sounds like it's a utility alias for inverted nipples.
Nipple holes sounds like it would be for gaping nipples (i.e. what we would label as grotesque art) which is not what it’s intended for. It’s more akin to how some artists include fingernails or not. Gaping would be one of the main focus of the image, whereas innie_nipples would usually not be the main focus of the overall image.

Then propose a different name that doesn't have the innie nipples/inverted nipples similarty.

We don’t call belly buttons inverted. How can I sufficiently account for users lack of reading wiki or thinking about a tag? Crater_nipples? Penetrable nipple is way too nsfw-sounding and not the purpose, but could be a better fit.

It's been explained to you before, and on Discord about 30 minutes ago. It doesn't matter how good the description in the wiki is, the tag name has to at least vaguely make sense, because the tag name is what the primary usage will be based on. This is just reality, pretending it doesn't work like that leads to horribly polluted tags that will probably just end up getting nuked anyway, even if they are valid tags, just because it's not worth the effort to clean up.
nipple_creases, detailed nipples, nipple_folds, nipple_wrinkles, nipple_dents, nipple_ducts, nipple_dots (doesn't work because there are ones that are folds), nipple_impacts, nipple_deformation, shallow_nipples, nipple_craters (craters are a sort of hole).
I think nipple_holes is the most simple and obvious solution; holes can be of any size, and small ones are what's intuitive. gaping_nipples could even be renamed to "big_nipple_holes" or "large_nipple_holes" if we feel it doesn't match the other "gaping" tags other than being grotesquely wide. Though there are only two posts.
nipple_pinholes? Unless that makes you think of several holes in a single nipple (which is anatomically correct; there are 15−20 of them per nipple).
I can understand wanting this tag for something like post #6269760 and siblings in which it's noticeably prominent, but for post #7423060, post #7296307, and post #7403463? From a quick check on the first page of nipples, more then half would apply for this tag as it is.

Nipple ducts could be confused with milk ducts
nipple_indents or nipple_indentation was what immediately came to mind to describe it. Looks like the wiki had the same idea.
Also helps with side view posts like post #7727513 or post #6620829 where there aren't really any clear 'holes' from that angle

Agree, it sounds like a gore thing or injury.
Maybe nipple slits nipple folds? but that sucks too.
