The tag is repeated.The phrase "miao_clothes" refers to the clothing of the Hmong ethnic group.

I wouldn't say the tag is repeated, because depictions of Hmong people don't have to depict them wearing their traditional clothes.

All of the posts currently tagged hmong have miao clothes though, and this is useful for people who might only know about hmong and not miao.

Wouldn't a hmong_clothes alias be more accurate then? We don't alias similar demonym/gentilic words to ethno-cultural clothes tags.

I don't know much about the people from these areas, so I can't really weigh in any further, but I do think we should bring this tag in line with our other tags for ethnic clothing.

A couple thoughts:
- Hmong is an endonym for the Hmong people, who are generally (to my knowledge) categorized by ethnologists both in China and the west as a part of the Miao people, a group encompassing several ethnic groups. Miao is a non-endonymic word probably of Han chinese origin, and most Hmong (and Miao) people live in China.
- I think we should have only one of hmong clothes and miao clothes. While "hmong" is a more well-known word in America I would prefer to use "Miao" because most of the posts currently in hmong and miao clothes are by Chinese artists, and they are using the term "miao" (苗族) which is broader in scope than "hmong" (苗族蒙人). My Chinese is very poor, so I can't comment any more on the linguistic aspect.
- There is only one post where the hmong tag was not added by user #1160491, which makes the practicality of any helper aliases dubious. However, I still think there's a good case for aliasing either hmong or hmong clothes to miao clothes because of the above.

I would also like to invite @SeiIce to comment on this thread as they seem to have some familiarity with the subject :)

Following what I wrote above, I think the best option is to create a helper alias from hmong clothes to miao clothes, and we can nuke the hmong tag since we don't tag ethnicities.

Also miao dress is there because it looks like a duplicate of miao clothes.
