Correcting Don Quixote (novel)'s name

Posted under Tags

BUR #25672 has been approved by @nonamethanks.

create alias don_quijote -> don_quixote_(novel)
remove alias don_quijote -> don_quixote_(novel)
create alias don_quijote_(novel) -> don_quixote_(novel)
create alias alonso_quijano -> alonso_quixano

For some reason, Danbooru is using the unpopular romanization name of Don Quixote ("Don Quijote") instead of the actual one, so I would like to change this, especially since it is ambiguous with Don Quijote (store).

Edit: Apparently "Quijote" is the modern Spanish romanization, so I changed the BUR accordingly.

Updated

I don't think calling the native modern Spanish name the 'unpopular romanization name' is accurate. Quijote is just how Quixote is rendered today in Spanish, while the older spelling with the x was retained in writing internationally due to its viral spread at the time of release.

Regardless, if you want to disambiguate, it would make sense to follow up with removing the alias, adding a new alias in don_quijote_(novel), and deprecating don quijote. Also, you need to update Alonso Quijano's name to be Alonso Quixano for consistency, since the title is obviously derived from his name.

Aight, sorry about that. Updating the BUR now.
