Uploading images doesn't work via url for (free) Patreon and Reddit page links on mobile browser for me. It just says "Upload failed: File is not an image or video."

Give an example of the URLs you're trying to use.
Reddit Page url taken from mobile browser:
https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fds05uzmtd6d61.jpg
Link copied via reddit's share button (in mobile app): https://www.reddit.com/r/tales/s/RtMDlrF5yo
Old reddit link (just found out it works): https://old.reddit.com/r/tales/comments/l3oi00/drew_sheena_for_someone_after_a_long_art_block/?ref=share&ref_source=link
Patreon link copied from their share button on mobile browser (no different from url in the adress bar): https://www.patreon.com/posts/shall-we-96763856
*This Patreon pic is already uploaded here btw.

The issues regarding these types of reddit links have been reported on github for a while now in issue #5575 and issue #5582. For if you want to use reddit sources on mobile you have to open the /s/ link you get from the app on your browser, which will take you to the standard link you'd normally get on desktop. You can copy that into the upload page as usual. As for the media pages, those come up when you try to access the image's direct link and are unsupported. Just use the post link instead.

Reddit URLs haven't worked in a while, and I don't think Patreon ones ever have.
Only the two kinds of reddit links mentioned above don't work, the regular links work fine. You're right on Patreon though, its never been supported but a request to add it has been on github in issue #5322
