Ambiguous action tag deprecation/replacement thread

Posted under Tags

BUR #21326 has been approved by @nonamethanks.

create alias licking_neck -> licking_another's_neck
create implication licking_another's_neck -> licking

Currently there's only one post of someone licking their own neck. I don't think there should be a problem with aliasing the present tag to "another's".
[EDIT] I have looked through every single post (viewable by gold+) tagged licking_neck, save for two by huqu I'm not comfortable looking through. There are no other posts containing an instance of licking one's own neck. Of note: I didn't narrow this down to posts with long tongues, I checked all of the posts tagged licking neck.

What's the point of deprecating licking_neck when you're aliasing it to licking_another's_neck? Although it seems kind of absurd that we have to actually specify licking someone's else's neck when it's pretty unrealistic for someone to normally lick their own neck, especially when your example of licking your own neck required that the person has a mouth growing out of their hand.

Updated

I was wondering that myself. Should the deprecation be removed?

I was surprised there weren't any instances of characters with long tongues doing it.

BUR #21331 has been rejected.

deprecate brushing_hair

I've gone through every single post* tagged brushing hair, but lacking either brushing own hair or brushing another's hair. There are now no posts as of this request, that lack either or.

There may be some that have brushing own/another's, when another is also taking place- But I was hoping to deprecate this before any new posts arise, to sort this out more efficiently.

*Thanks @nonamethanks for tagging the banned posts

I don't like the idea of nuking this tag. When I created those two tags I stated in forum #212232 that imo it was a worthwhile umbrella tag to keep.

Also, I don't see much point in a topic like this, precisely because of the disagreement we're seeing in the very first two BURs. We're not running out of forum space, so I think it's easier for us admins to keep track of discussions if we stick to separate topics for each BUR.

Ahhh. Yeah. It's easier to jump to new topics than it is to jump to specific posts, if you're searching the forum.

Though, I wish these types of tags had some sort of footnotes to them stating "We don't want to deprecate or replace this tag because so and so". Otherwise, how many topics am I going to have to read through for more common general tags' usage? We may have seemingly infinite space, but these things pile up and make it harder to find other things.

When viewing a tag wiki or single-tag post search, at the bottom of the sidebar there'll be a "discussions" button that sends you to a forum search showing you every time a tag was linked in the forums. Most of these medium-sized tags have very little discussion, so all the discussions about them typically will be displayed in a single page.

I'm asking if it'd be reasonable to cite/link statements from the forum, in the wiki of tags discussed.
