What's the issue with these; is it just the older art style? I know some elements of 00s anime art like thicker black lines (as a result of scanning physical inkwork), less saturated colors, big poofy/spiky hair, etc are somewhat the opposite of what's popular today, but imo these are extremely good for fan art from 2005-2006. Besides other pieces from this artist that have been approved, Danbooru does host images in this style (provided they were uploaded when they were new), ex. post #80914. Are users discouraged from uploading unofficial art from this era? It's one of my favorite styles, I feel that it deserves preservation.
I'd appreciate some feedback on post #6805948 I have the impression it got overlooked for being hand-drawn, but these aren't amateur lines. It's up there with other stuff in the graphite tag. And her arms are just really good (their multiplicity aside). It's rare. I couldn't find something comparable on danbooru so I'd be happy if we could have it here.
(I also spent a lot of time on the tags, but I understand that doesn't really matter here)
For the following image https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/6940290?q=status%3Adeleted+user%3AFreshblink I was wondering why it was not approved in this case since everything else from this artist has been uploaded. I don't see any clear or obvious anatomical mistakes, the hands, eyes and body seem to look good to. Is it just the theme or composition
Why not post #6210335? I believe it has sufficient quality. Compared to the same artist's work that is approved around the time of this upload, I find it at a similar level.
It wasn't approved, it was uploaded by an unrestricted user. Also: don't compare your uploads with other uploads. post #6908346 is a complete different theme compared to post #6911620

And yet, same character. Waaaaaaay diifferent quality.... and still not approval.
just curious. Why those 5 were not approved? this character has very few art anyway (even on website like pixiv) so digging up stuff from some deepths of internet or untagged pixiv art and sharing on biggest image websites could be nice popularity/spotlight boost

post #6943336: The only one that doesn't seem to be doing anything wrong, besides not bothering to import the artist commentary. post #6942453: Unsourced; Your own third-party edit, potentially against the rules. post #6942714: Added your own commentary instead of the artist's; Kinda meh quality. post #6942878: Unsourced; A pixel-perfect duplicate of a post that received a take-down request. post #6942846: Unsourced; Given the state of the other ones, not surprised if this one's an edit or a paid reward.
Not sourcing your uploads is a good way to get them ignored by approvers, especially if they look like they could be against the rules.
This one I'm less inclined to fight for. It looks okay to me for the most part, although the spine does look a bit off for the pose. I've seen worse though, so I'll just leave it here in case someone thinks it's good enough. post #6939665
