I'm gonna add this one for the Americans.

For sake of consistency and usability, it may be worth aliasing shedding_exoskeleton to ecdysis.

There's a slight discrepancy in tone between the wiki for moulting and the other tags involved. Moulting is specifically mentioned to include artistic or symbolic depictions, while the wikis for the others are more literal and refer to realistic biological processes.

I think shedding_skin, shedding_fur, shedding_feathers and ecdysis should focus on the realistic/biological end. In particular ecdysis is a very "sciencey" word, and it seems very strange to use it for posts like post #5799026 and post #5874771. These and similar would be bettered served by a different tag, perhaps shedding self?

I'm going to approve these to reduce tag clutter, but yes, imo ecdysis should be used for actual insects, and something like shedding self should be made for symbolic ones.

I'm not even sure we want shedding exoskeleton and shedding fur to be under the same tag, since they are visually very different, but shedding is already a mixed bag so these won't change much.
