Official art doesn't garantee approval. Personally, I disapproved it because it's sourced from Fandom, I don't know how the image came to be and I don't want to encourage posts like that.

When looking for official art to archive, try to look for first or second-party sources if it's an active copyright. About the post, someone else might think differently than me.

Sorry to bother those monitoring this thread! I'm moving away from uploading nsfw content but had a question!

I was curious about post #6858194 :,)

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but given it had generally favorable interactions, I am wondering if this upload in particular was poor, or if I should leave posting more specific nsfw content to contributors instead of trying to upload content like this through the mod queue?

NSFW posts tend judge more hard than S or G post, but there is a lot NSFW post that got approved if it's good enough.

I have had a series of uploads over the years that I don't know why they were never approved, some of them are admittedly older uploads and some of them are quite new uploads but I never really could understand why any of these following posts were not seemingly approved or what reasons would have been to explain why they were not approved. I was wondering if I could maybe get some insights because I'm just very confused.

Most posts are simple doodles or sketches and weren't properly sourced. Danbooru is primarily for anime related artworks, so adding to the sourcing issue, Modern Warfare images may have a higher chance of being deleted than usual. You can read help:upload and help:image_source for info about uploading and sourcing.

Fair enough on the Modern Warfare uploads but what about the more detailed Signalis and Strike Witches arts, one of which was an official work by Shimada himself? I genuinely don't know what problems those had to prevent them receiving approval? I even added source request tags to make sure that any works I couldn't account for their artists and web sources were added just to play things safe, and it looks like a number of them were at least able to find and track their sources after a point.

Source request doesn't replace the actual source. You're still obligated to find it, or at least source from where you got the image from, even if it's a second-party source or third-party source. We also don't auto-approve official art.
And even then, most images are rather sketches or simple doodles, even the properly sourced ones. They look to simple for me at least.
