For some reason this tag was moved manually by @Damian0358 a couple days ago. From what I can see it should've just been aliased.

idk which one had more posts before but I hate the name so I think it should be flipped, also for more consistency with other *_connection tags
in-franchise crossover had 3-4x what series connection had and was formerly a pool that was BURed into a tag (topic #22882). As for "consistency", I assume it's meant to be an analogue to the crossover tag. Renaming it means it loses consistency with that one instead. There's also the matter of which is less prone to misuse, since we clearly don't want every picture with two characters from the same copyright tagged as such.
I will admit fault for deciding to unilaterally move series connection to in-franchise crossover (and dragging Unbreakable into this by having him clean up the banned posts under the tag), but I would like to at least explain my reasoning for moving it manually rather than making an alias.
Series connection was a wiki-less tag that wasn't linked in any other wiki and was primarily being used for one copyright, PreCure, by one specific user (that being BrokenEagle), in a way that was functionally indistinguishable from in-franchise crossover in terms of taggability. So, I manually moved everything from the tag over to the tag that's actually being used. But I opted out of making an alias because I could see people raising an argument that the tag should exist, but as a distinctly separate tag.
As it stands right now, in-franchise crossover is explicitly for "non-canonical" crossovers, even if the tag right now might not be used exclusively in that sense, meaning that it leaves a tag open for "canonical" crossovers, crossovers that can't be covered by way of copyright tags because the crossover occurred in one random episode of the anime or random chapter of the manga or light novel or whatever. As such, series connection could be resurrected with a far clearer and more distinct use from in-franchise crossover. If this alias goes through, then I say the wiki for in-franchise crossover should be updated (probably also dealing with the other concerns raised about its definition in the original topic that turned it into a tag).
