Aliasing Esca tag due to accidental double creation

BUR #19566 has been rejected.

create alias esca -> illicium
create alias illicium -> esca

I accidentally created the esca tag on this post, unaware that there was an illicium tag, which meant the same thing (did not know the word illicium existed as synonym to esca). Would it be possible to merge one to the other?

It’s only one post; just change the tag manually. I don’t think the tags are big enough to warrant an alias.

Also, you cannot create circular aliases (A → B → A). You would have to pick one of the two.

I think memast was under the impression admins can pick and choose what pars of a BUR get approved.

BURs are all or nothing, so both aliases will be applied if this BUR is approved (though I hope there is some safety mechanism in place to prevent circular aliases in case something like this gets approved by accident). If you think one tag should be aliased to the other but don't know which direction the alias should go, you can create two separate BURs in the same thread. Clicking Request alias/implication while in a thread will let you create a new BUR in the thread you're currently in.

Also, in cases like this, you are able to reject your own BURs instead of waiting for an admin to do it or for 45 days to pass.
