nuke multiple_sources

This tag applies to literally any post that's a pixel perfect duplicate or inferior version. It also applies to their parent posts, and, according to the wiki, it also applies even if the inferior/superior version isn't actually on Danbooru.

...I'm not joking; the wiki is very clear on that particular point:

multiple sources is about outside sources -- it means that multiple copies are available outside Danbooru.

There is no way in hell this tag will ever even come close to being properly tagged, and even if it were, it would be a nightmare to maintain with things like bad ids, protected links, paywalled paid rewards etc. constantly throwing wrenches into it. Since making it usable is an impossible task, this tag serves no purpose beyond bloat and should be nuked.

The tag feels like something that'd make more sense in a world where duplicates are collapsed together into one collective post, and used to indicate there are multiple sources, rather than what it is now. But I could also imagine that in such a world, there'd be a source:multiple or similar search modifier that'd basically serve the same purpose, so...

I’m still holding out hope for that to happen.
I did see something similar in e621 the few times I’ve been there.

e621 has no such functionality, it merely lets you list up to five sources in the source field. This is a pain in the ass, as you have to manually check which source is the real one since they don’t record which of those five sources the post file actually came from. Saucenao frequently lists the incorrect source for e621 posts because of this.

In theory, I think the ability to catalogue however many sources an image has and where is an absolutely wonderful idea. In practice, I have no idea what that would look like and it would more than likely be incredibly hard to implement.

Ah well, that's wishful thinking for ya I guess. As it currently stands, this tag is a complete nightmare and should probably be nuked from orbit. But that's just stating the obvious at this point.

In which case would deprecating this rather than straight out nuking it help establish that tag? I'm guessing the answer's probably no but worth thinking about.

If someone wants to create that tag they can use commentary:*[tn]Source:*[tn]Source:*, which should find all commentaries that were fetched from multiple sources. Further pages will probably time out, but that shouldn't be an issue if the tag is excluded from that search as it's being populated
