deprecate child_on_child

Posted under Tags

I agree with depreciating the tag (especially with less than 5% is:sfw posts), but I don't think we should split it into those new tags. It may result in some users applying them to SFW posts, which could cause its own set of problems (see the discussions about onee-loli, onee-shota, and onii-shota). I suggest we instead tag age difference more consistently with loli/shota posts when it applies so that users can better filter them out. Searching for child/loli/shota and hetero/yaoi/yuri/bisexual should then result in the posts child on child was meant for. One disadvantage with the filtering solution is that regular members will have to use the blacklist, but it would still make it easier for them without adding additional risky tags.

I don't think it's realistic to expect users to suddenly start tagging age difference on all relevant posts, also the tagging of those hypothetical sub tags on SFW stuff can be avoided if we use loli on loli instead of loli with loli , we can even add a qualifier if it's not enough, which would be rather overkill imo, but at least this has much higher chance of being effective, in comparison to just hoping age difference starts getting tagged exhaustively

We don't use loli/shota on G posts so I don't think people will start using these tags on such posts. I proposed "with" an line with existing tags like futa_with_female, it seems most intuitive to me.
I agree that using age_difference instead is probably not going to work.

You have more faith than me. After seeing people used female_child and male_child, the potential is there but less so, I think. With that said, I do like the additional tags, but I think an additional tag to the proposal might be helpful: "Young_Romance_Love" in making sure we keep things separate.

post #6447735, post #6483834, post #5213991, post #6072408, & post #5182960 are tagged without "child" or "child_on_child" I believe one did have a male_child tag but not child tag. I mainly had to search for these using my knowledge of fancanon. The first one I just got lucky.

Now using child and hetero/yaoi/yuri/bissexual seems to work, but you also get results like these: post #5438299 & post #3324740. Yaoi and yuri seem to yield better results for getting romantic images of child_on_child than say hetero does... but I also think spiliting child_on_child into 4 tags might be too much for some users ...However, we have something similar with

and again with

just off the top of my head, so I think 4 tags should be fine to break child_on_child into just to try and cover all our bases but if people want to keep it to three that's fine with me.

child_on_child + hetero is already a thing. Why split it?

This BUR is important for context: forum #249361. evazion doesn't like tags with the word "child" in them because their association with anything nsfw (such as breast sizes) is a bad look from an outside context. The words loli and shota are more obscured, and therefore more acceptable.

This is true. Shota was trending on Twitter recently.
Some people were cheering, others were upset and the non weebs were going... my favorite wrestler, SHOTA Umino is making it big.

What a name to have!

I like this idea, though I think "Young_Romance_Love" can be shortened to "Young_Love." We might not even have to split the tags since "young" is more ambiguous than "child." The rating system would be enough to keep them separate.

I had originally wrote just that but since I wanted it only to be used for romantic/cute interactions. I thought some qualifer in the name would be best to keep it pure so the tag won't be misused.

But I see i should have kept both now.

"Young_romance" sounds just fine to me

I strongly believe that no changes - not even rename - should be done to child on child.

It will never be replaced by age difference negative search.
First, child on child is just easier to notice and tag, while age difference often gets forgotten.
Second, age difference and child on child are not mutually exclusive. For example, 13 y.o. loli with 7 y.o. shota can have both applied. In fact, we already have some posts like that under child_on_child age_difference (loli or shota).

Being against the rename and/or split is just a personal preference, however.

While I proposed the age difference negative search, I'm actually in favor of splitting and renaming it now. I originally argued that loli/shota can be combined with hetero/yaoi/yuri/etc. and -age difference, but as you and Mayhem-Chan pointed out, it would not be realistic for age difference to be tagged consistently.

However, the tag absolutely should be renamed because of the problems with associating child-related tags with loli/shota content. Considering that male child and female child were nuked not too long ago, the only chance of survival child on child has is to either be renamed something that can somehow be appropriate for both SFW and NSFW posts, or have its scope narrowed to SFW (with other tags covering the NSFW posts). Even in the latter case, it would still need to be renamed to something that doesn't sound like it's for children having sex (minimum acceptable change would be child with child in that case).

A victim of the main approvers of potentially-contentious BURs like this being on vacation, shame. Though if I had to guess a potential reason why the BUR hasn't been approved yet, it's potentially because the proposed splinter tags of young romance, loli with loli, shota with shota (probably renaming shota on shota's wiki in the process) and loli with shota haven't been made yet, so the people who are using child on child right now wouldn't be able to immediately switch to one of them were the tag to get deprecated.

loli with loli, shota with shota and shota on loli are redundant with child_on_child yaoi/child_on_child yuri/child_on_child hetero, I don't think they're useful as it stands.

As for all the alternatives proposed in this thread, they all miss the point that hdk5 raised: that any alternative to not having the concept tagged would be objectively worse. Also, splitting the tag into shota on shota/loli on loli/loli on shota does nothing, and I'm not sure if they're much better: after all, instead of having "child on child" on porn posts, we would end up on having "loli on loli" on rating:G posts.
young romance is kinda laughable if you see it on mating press pics, and I worry it would be used on teenager pics too with a name like that, but it's a step in the right direction.
