I want to gain access to gold by contributing as i found out from this post you may get gold or higher by contributing to the site. I was wondering how much i would need to contribute to get recognized and possibly promoted. And about how many members get promoted every year.
Question does having any negative feedback Disqualify you?
I don't think so, there are builders with negative feedbacks, in general it might depend on what you've done. I believe mods and admins are indifferent and you can appeal to have a negative feedback removed if you have good contributions and have behaved since receiving it, but only they can give you a legitimate answer.
You have a great deletion ratio with well tagged posts, if you keep this up you might get unres eventually.

Herearethree users that received negative records prior to being promoted to Builder. I can't speak for the admins, but I would expect you need to demonstrate that you've learned from it and aren't going to repeat the behavior that earned the feedback in the first place.
Your upload limit is calculated off your recent deletion ratio, not your all time ratio, because what matters is that you currently understand what makes a good upload. Promotions would then logically work the same way; As long as your recent behavior outweighs your past behavior, you're just as eligible for promotion as anyone.
Contribute to the site, don't cause trouble, and you'll get there eventually, even if you've made a few mistakes. Just don't repeat them.
Seems like alot of work. How long did it take you get builder?
That list is a bit of a scary infodump, reading it all is recommended and will certainly help but you can always join our Discord server to learn hands-on from our Builders and admins. There is no set timeframe to get promoted, it's dependent on when an admin notices your contributions and feels you're ready (joining the server helps in that regard).

Don't have an exact number of edits or whatever, but I had 678 posts when I got Builder. I started uploading on 2020/02/27 and got Builder on 2021/02/02. So roughly around a year of uploading irregularly got me it. But nowadays it's probably easier? I dunno.

Thanks for all the advice and info is there any way for me to give a good word for you?
It took me a few months and around a thousand posts to get promoted. To get promoted requires good tagging and quality posts. If your uploads are good enough, you can attain contributor status and won't absolutely require your art to go through the approval process.
For me it took me about a year of uploading, i got promoted shortly after reaching 1000 uploads. If you really want, you could be a very prolific uploader and try to hit the upload cap each day, but you might risk burning out. Do note that uploads aren't the only way to get promoted, but probably the most common.

Gold+ users can leave positive/negative/neutral feedbacks on user profiles, you can find the link to them at the bottom of an user page.
I got promoted about 9 months after I started being active. However, unlike everyone else here, I had almost no uploads and only around 600 tag edits. My contributions were entirely productive forum activity, and this was despite my first impressions being terrible. I wasn't even really trying to get promoted, it just kind of came out of nowhere. All I was doing was giving my, sometimes abrasive, opinions in the forums.
Probably the most important contributing factor is visibility. Being active in the forums or in the Discord server ensures that the admins know who you are, and what you're doing to improve the site. You don't need thousands of uploads or tag edits, it's just usually what people do, and having thousands of anything won't matter if no one notices it.

I want to emphasize this. If uploading is what floats your boat, do it, and there's plenty of art out there that isn't uploaded and should be, but you'll be better off doing whatever feels genuinely useful/rewarding to you or what you feel you're good at, because when your heart is in it, you'll do a better job and you're less likely to burn out (both of which mean less waiting and pain until a promotion).
Plus, if I had to say what I think the site needs more of, uploading would be pretty low on the list. I'd rather have one more iridescent slime than 50 more "prolific uploaders". It would be great to have more good translators too.
Uploads may be the most noticed form of contribution in general, which is kind of unfortunate, but you can absolutely be recognized by contributions other than uploading. My own type of contributions have been mixed, and I couldn't say what I'm "known" for, if anything, but I know I had way less than 1000 uploads when I was promoted.
I've seen a lot of people asking for numbers on what's necessary to get promoted, but there aren't any AFAIK. What's necessary is that other users think you're significantly improving the site. A few really good contributions go farther than a lot of mediocre ones. Avoiding creating extra work for others (poorly tagged uploads, for example) goes a long way too.
When did you seriously start trying to get a promotion? How long did that take
Never, I did try to increase my upload limit to 40 after becoming a builder, but nothing serious. You have some nice replies above, start contributing with whatever you like at your own pace if that's you goal.

I only recently got promoted to builder since starting to actively contribute a couple months back, and to be honest I still feel like I stumbled into it. I simply like uploading, ask for help in the forums semi-frequently, and occasionally contribute to forum discussions if I have anything to say (as well as fix tagging issues for certain copyrights if I spot anything wonky or annoying). Getting promoted hasn't really changed much for me. It was never a goal of mine. Just an acknowledgement of my contributions to this site, is how I look at it.
Adding on to a previous discussion point or two, I've encountered builders with not even a single upload to their name who got there through translation work or excellent tag gardening. Also, there are plenty of request tags asking for help with things, and not just for translation, that you can help fill out too, like for sourcing. We could always use more people to help with things like that.
