62k posts vs 51k for the anime tag, I'd say 11k posts of "everything else" is a good enough reason to separate the anime posts. I completely forgot this thread existed btw, which is why I didn't approve it earlier.

Just to be 100% sure:

• Posts like post #6226988, post #6087610 or post #966909 (posts with characters from the OG anime with new spinoff-originals, that do not reference a specific spinoff's plot) should still be applicable for the new anime tag, even if the OG anime characters also appear in that specific spinoff?
• Posts like post #6227079 (characters from the OG anime in costumes from a later spinoff), post #6004965 (posts that reference the plot in some form, even in minor ways) and post #5916411 (official art created specifically for a spinoff, even if it could as well be art for the main series) should NOT apply?

Also, by the way - a single design from the Concept Movie has appeared in Walpurgis no Kaiten's newest trailer. While I don't think they can be aliased together yet (we have only seen a trailer, after all), would it be fine to move posts featuring that design from CM to WnK's tag? Or vice-versa?

Maybe, to be safe, include both tags on those posts.

After further inspection, and finding a post on Tumblr, I realized that the Concept design and Kaiten design are actually not the same, just really similar. Only the 2nd post from that list is the actual Kaiten design (the 1st still references the release date, so it just needs to have both tags).
