Shouldn't heart-shaped pendant be an alias instead? This way people would still be able to use the name, without it being a separate tag.

Maybe. Seems like the current tags are inconsistent on whether to call heart shaped items a "heart ___" or a "heart-shaped ___":

• heart necklace
• heart brooch
• heart hair ornament

(there are no implications between "heart ___" and "heart-shaped ___")

• heart-shaped lock
• heart-shaped gem
• heart-shaped chocolate
