Utility aliases. Not sure what other qualifier to use other than "activity".

If it's for the action of barbequeing it would be a gerund. I am not convinced calling barbequed food 'barbeque' is valid either.
The tag is pretty ambiguous because it can be used for the food, the act or the grill itself. I just finished cleaning it up, and it was a mix of grilling (even on bonfires or even magical fire, without grills, like post #4414331), of grills (unused, like post #4431312), and of people in general eating skewer with no visible grill nor grilling nor fire anywhere.
