This is off-topic. This thread isn't for debating the validity of AI. AI art is banned on Danbooru for the simple practical reason that we don't want to be flooded by it.
I understand that. However, my points aren't off-topic. This thread is made to spite AI-generation. I've just brought counter-arguments to this spite. That's called balance. This was about the same matter, just the opposite perspective.
But clearly, the author of this topic is a child, so there's really no point in trying to discuss with that.
You talk about "gatekeeping" as if it was a bad thing, so let's put some things into perspective. As of right now, there's almost 80k artworks tagged with NovelAI on pixiv. That's beating out several popular franchise tags that have existed on the site for a decade, all in the span of one month, and we're not even counting either 1) other AI tags 2) the dozens of thousands of untagged AI images from new accounts posing as "digital artists", advertising their fanbox and flooding your feed even if you have AI artwork filtered out. On every site that hasn't outright banned AI art, interesting, well-drawn works by human artists are being buried under a deluge of cookie-cutter bikini-clad anime girls with arms behind their back, melting eyes and body parts that stop making sense the moment you zoom in on them. Now imagine if word got out that you can get your name on Danbooru just by inputting 10 words into a generator. The site's front page would be barely distinguishable from AIbooru's.

This isn't a spite thread. This thread is in the same nature as the Loli/shota check thread and the Ratings check thread. So yes, your points are off-topic.

It looks like it's handdrawn from scratch, but one of the tags says "AI-generated", which makes it very sus, even though this artist has a history of being legitimate.

Some artists will mark their handdrawn work as AI just to show up in AI rankings and trending searches, I guess this is the case here.
3 of 4 of their image sets are tagged 'AI-generated', no matter how hand-drawn looking. And the hands are perfect. Nobody would believe these are NovelAI generated: it is possible NAI can do these images but one would have to be a god of prompting to do these so well and in multiple versions, and they would talk about it or everyone would be speculating how they had done it. So I doubt that they are chasing clout by deliberately mis-tagging. Maybe they do not understand the tag system of Pixiv? I do not know if Pixiv makes the AI tag optout now. They have not posted many images, so they are not an experienced Pixiv user.
The goal isn't to try and pass the image off as AI-generated, it's just a way to get more eyes on it by riding on the immense popularity of AI-related searches. But yes, whatever the case the user's obviously kind of out of touch with pixiv. If they were after visibility they just shot themselves in the foot, as rather than adding an ~AI tag to the work, they marked it as such in the dedicated checkbox, which boots it into a (AFAIK) non-browsable category that only exists to be filtered out if desired.
Alternatively, English isn't their native language and they simply misunderstood the ckeckbox's purpose.

Artist's prior artwork was AI-generated (post #5812694, post #5812690)

She has no pinky finger, so I say yes.

100%, it even rips off hito komoru's style
Background is done with midjourney, not sure if it's enough to pass of as ai-assisted or if there's too little change?
Oh, and apparently post #5607450 too, I tagged it ai-assisted for now.

Yes that counts as AI assisted.
post #5833739 i left a comment on this one but i dont know what to do in this situation exactly because i dont want to feel like im making all the decisions. if i belive art is AI generated should i just tag it? the artist is leaving no disclaimers that this is AI generated tho. i noticed theyve been sell uploading to places like R34 too

The area surrounding her horns looks somewhat odd.

I think it can be safely tagged as AI. I can't see any traces of human brush strokes on this or any of the artist's other uploads. Plenty of body parts blending into each other and disjointed lines, though.
There's been an influx of 'artists' of this ilk self-uploading to promote their socials and paid rewards recently, so it's something to watch out for.

What do you think? https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/5835191
Overall doesn't fit artist's style, but male looks exactly like default novelai generated thing.
