deprecate room
Vague, poorly used tag. There's classroom, bedroom, bathroom, or kitchen for more specific types of room, or indoors for just any type of room.
The only use I see for this tag would be for posts focused on the room itself, as in room no_humans or loaded interior. That's not how the tag is currently used though.

nooooo, now its more annoying to search for any kind of room. because last time i checked, having a wildcard at the beginning of a tag will not go well. so *room encompasses (bedroom or -bedroom or bathrooom or -bathroom)

There is a problem with *room but it isn't what you said. Instead the problem is that it is mostly broom with a healthy dose of mushroom.
But yes indoors is that tag you want.
