Well, no, because "carp" is not a singular specific species of fish. Carp refers to various species of fish, which include koi. Our wiki even says this. Modern dogs and wolves however are separate species with a common ancestor. A dog is not a type of wolf.

Is there a reason we don't imply the various species of animals to their umbrella terms? boston terrier -> dog for example.

You do get an image now and then that is a reference or derivative of koinobori, but doesn't use koi. Examples: post #5247755 and post #2714048

I would suggest a koinobori -> windsock implication, but windsock's wiki says that it's primarily used for Amatsukaze's hair tubes? Maybe split it into two tags and make it windsock hair tube or windsock hair ornament?

I really hate when tags for objects that are rarely seen on site are overwhelmed by a specific character's design that remotely resembles the item. windsock -amatsukaze_(kantai_collection) has zero (zero!) results of windsock hair tubes, so I'm just going to propose to nuke the tag from those posts.

That'll have it readded via the koinobori implication, but I'll take a look at the search before approving to make sure it's not removing obvious results.

It's the same with tags like flight_deck and rigging (or is it machinery? We still can't make up our minds...) and smokestack. Shipgirls ruin everything.
