Can your honesty invoke someone else's displeasure?

As the title implies, in post #5058981 I've made a comment asking for folks to be honest, but was downvoted. Am I missing something or is there an unwritten rule that I don't know? Comment in question: comment #2193551

This isn't rule34; if you make horny comments then you'll get downvoted. Nobody else cares how much of a foot fetish you have.

Except it wasn't and I don't have a foot fetish

Invoking anyone to admit to a particular fetish, or what their stance is on a particular fetish, which is what your comment basically was, is pretty rude in my opinion. Especially with uncommon fetishes, and even moreso when they are disliked or thought to be weird by a large number of users.

Not just horny comments, that kind of banter in general is frowned upon on Danbooru by many users. It is recommended to enjoy the art in silence.

You know what's even worse than people who leave thirsty comments on NSFW posts? People who do the same thing but in the form of a rhetorical question and then play dumb when other users see through their bullshit. It's obvious to everyone what that comment was, and whining about downvotes in the forum isn't going to change things.

For starters, it wasn't rude. It was a question. All I asked was if anyone would like to be in Lumine's position.

It's entirely about you whining about downvotes. You edited your comment to do so. Then posted a second comment to whine more. And then made an inane forum post about it. Slime was right.

This thread should just be locked so we can all move on with our day.
