create alias yuto_(yu-gi-oh!) -> yuuto_(yu-gi-oh!)
create alias yugo_(yu-gi-oh!) -> yuugo_(yu-gi-oh!)
create alias yuri_(yu-gi-oh!) -> yuuri_(yu-gi-oh!)
I've never seen anyone in my life use double u for these character, but here we are. Google even corrects you when you search with that spelling
Edit: Reversing the BUR because nobody actually uses that spelling and we'd be the only ones with it which is dumb.

Some wikis and site uses the correct spelling: see for example MAL and the ARC-V wiki. I'm not sure myself in this case. Our yugioh tags seem to be all over the place in terms of spelling, not even accounting for the duel monster names.
Well, I can only tell you about what I've seen being used in the fandom. I've never seen any fan actually use that spelling, but if we wanna keep them then I'll just reverse the alias.

Yuto will be released in Duel links soon, but I guess you could argue that it's the dub's spelling of his name since the game uses the characters dub names

For the duel monsters most of them use their official TCG names unless their not out yet. Most of their inconsistency i think comes from whether the hyphens get kept Yubel - Terror Incarnate keeps it but Blackwing blizzard the far north drops it.
I agree with the way we use monster card names. Finding the OCG names of each card would be such a pain.
This feels like the same issue that we dealt with in kujo jotaro and kujo jolyne etc. There is just a more common way people spell these names, they're not actually different names like the dub vs subs kinda thing.

That's because Duel Monsters and Yu-Gi-Oh characters are named differently in Danbooru. Duel Monsters are named like the TCG for practicality, as most pixiv tags of the duel monsters already have translation to their TCG name as well and honestly, most users would have a hard time looking for a specific TCG card.
On the other hand, the characters are named after their japanese names, because a good number of character in the Yu-Gi-Oh franchise kept their japanese names in the english dub or doesn't have their name changed at all in both versions (example: Jack Atlas, Crow Hogan, Fudou Yuusei, Kaiba Seto).
