If the toenails are distinct enough that you can see that they're colored imo they should be tagged. It doesn't make much sense to tag toenail polish but not toenails.
sharp toenails already implies toenails. By that logic otherwise that should be undone too because "technically" you can see sharp toenails in the distance.

Relevant topic: topic #12244.

Also nail polish should probably be turned back into fingernail polish, because right now it says it's for both toenail polish and fingernail polish, but it's not implied by toenail polish.

Agreed with the suggestion but with regards the semi-related "Also nail polish should probably be turned back into fingernail polish, because right now it says it's for both toenail polish and fingernail polish, but it's not implied by toenail polish", if you wanted to do that you would need to remove the implication from painting nails first, as well as garden any toenail polish images out (and keep doing it when they inevitably keep getting added). Better to make toenail polish imply nail polish in my opinion.

I think you're right, it doesn't make much sense for us to have two different tags for painting nails for fingernails vs toenails. Also given the comparative size of the two tags, even if toenail polish implies nail polish someone searching for nail polish will never have to exclude toenail polish if they only want to see fingernail polish.

Toenail polish and sharp toenails seem like just about the only times that toenails are tag worthy to me. Otherwise they're just regular toenails and not very special. So I'm not thrilled about this implication because I really question the usefulness of the toenails tag. If you take away all the toenail polish posts, then all you're left with is random barefoot posts where the toenails aren't any more noteworthy than usual.

You certainly can. They have the same detail as the fingernails, which are tagged in that post too.

That's simply not true as the fingernails clearly extend from the fingers.
The toenails are just colored for completion sake: It would probably look weird if they weren't. They're just drawn as stubs.

This doesn't strike me as notable.
