Regarding artist requests for sources with anonymous artists

If you can't find the actual artist, use artist request. Don't tag the commissioner.

Thank you for clarifying.

for non public need write user commentary under a post.

I'd write the user commentary under a post, but when I copied and pasted the source, it already added the user commentary on its own.
Thank you for letting me know nonetheless.

You can still edit it, it's probably good practice to format it in such a way that makes it separate from the original commentary (eg. post #4327762)

May I ask what you mean? Because it was only the original commentary from the pixiv upload that got added on its own here in danbooru.

The commentary field (both title and description) is supposed to be for the original comments on the linked source post (at time of upload). This will be auto-populated if you're using the upload bookmarklet on a supported site.

Occasionally responses by other users can be useful for clarifying the context of a work. This is especially true if it's a question that is followed up by a further response from the artist. In such cases it may be acceptable to include these responses in the commentary description, as they help readers here understand the work. But care has to be taken so people won't confuse them for the original commentary.

That said... personally speaking, all you need to do is to use the upload bookmarlet and leave the autofilled commentary fields as they are. If you're unsure, just leave things like trying to source additional comments (from other users, from an artist's replies, from an artist's other posts of the same art on other accounts, from the commissioner, etc.) to other people. Same goes for things like TL notes used to clarify things (which may include information on who the artist is if it's a commissioner-posted work but the commentary doesn't make it clear).

If you feel it's something important that should be looked at immediately (a relevant comment that you fear might be deleted soon, for example), then leave a comment on the post here on Danbooru so other people can help.

The above goes for the commentary. Tags are different. Generally speaking, for commissioner-uploader posts, tag the artist and tag commission. If you don't know who the artist is, tag artist request. If you feel it is important to identify the commissioner, then leave a comment (your own "user comment") mentioning it in the post here on Danbooru.

Interesting, interesting.
Bookmarklet is working as intended.

Thank you for this information. This will prove to be useful when I encounter a piece I want to upload that has helpful information in the comments section.

I feel it is important to list the commissioner in this case, because for two of my uploads, someone listed "Clint Westwood" as the artist when he isn't, he's the commissioner, and this commissioner leaves many of the artists unlisted, likely at their request.

Also, when mentioning the commissioner in a comment here on Danbooru, does it matter whether I mention it in the commentary field or under the comments section on the upload?

The commentary field is generally for what the artist (or in this case, commissioner) wrote, not for miscellaneous information you want to add. It should be added in the comment section instead.

Works with me. Thank you for clarifying.

We do have artist tags for Japanese and Korean anonymous artists on sites which allow users to post anonymously, the equivalent to the tag we have for anonymous western imageboard artists, but none of these tags apply to this scenario, where the artist in question is one that clearly has enough of a presence online to be able to take commissions, hence why, rather than using one of those tags (or tagging the commissioner), utilizing artist request instead is preferable.
