We have spikes (19k) and studs (72). These numbers aren't too meaningful because many spiked_* and studded_* items are missing implications, but in general the spiked_* variant has more posts.
Is there a reason to keep those separate? I think in most cases they are the same concept and just get arbitrarily tagged as one or the other.
I was about to propose merging spiked_jacket and studded_jacket but then I noticed there are more such cases:
studded | spiked | combined |
---|---|---|
studded_bracelet 775 | spiked_bracelet 6.3k | 7077 |
studded_collar 510 | spiked_collar 4.9k | 5456 |
studded_belt 1.9k | spiked_belt 92 | 1999 |
studded_armlet 41 | spiked_armlet 1.8k | 1810 |
studded_choker 313 | spiked_choker 388 | 701 |
studded_footwear 16 | spiked_footwear 330 | 346 |
studded_hairband 1 | spiked_hairband 238 | 239 |
studded_gloves 104 | spiked_gloves 115 | 219 |
studded_anklet 14 | spiked_anklet 176 | 190 |
studded_jacket 108 | spiked_jacket 30 | 138 |
studded_legwear 19 | spiked_legwear 18 | 37 |
studded_bikini 6 | spiked_bikini 5 | 11 |
I think these should be merged. Not all studs are spikes but I don't see enough of a difference and there are lots of mistags, for example most studded collars have spikes and many spiked belts have blunt studs.
Should we alias all in one direction or depending on most posts or post content? If all in one direction, we should also alias spikes and studs, and add implications where missing (spiked_* -spikes : 29713, studded_* -studs : 3684).
