I don't see any difference in both tags and we always go for *_boy and *_girl instead of *man or *woman.

I think fishman is intended for the more "monstrous"-appearing ones, with similar looks as a D&D Sahuagin or Lovecraftian Deep One, while fish_boy are intended for the ones that look more humanoid. Sort of like the difference between a furry and a *_boy *_girl (with both being tagged for certain examples).

Though fishman is currently used somewhat inconsistently, so I am not opposed to an alias.

fish boy seems almost exclusively used for aegir (tokyo houkago summoners), so keeping fishman and nuking fish_boy would make more sense imo

It seems to be very, very inconsistent. Sidon is sometimes tagged with both. Aliasing it and relying on the furry tag is the best bet. We don't really have unique furry vs. monster girl/boy tags.

Even if we wanted to get rid of fish boy, it would be better to reverse the alias than it would be to nuke it.

That's what I meant but I thought you would have to nuke it first

We have monster boy, not monster man, and fish girl, not fish woman. The tag should be called fish boy.

Can't speak for any other tags, it's just that "fishman" is somewhat established as the term for fish humans, including in One Piece.

And "x_boy"/"x_girl" is somewhat established as the term for animal/monster humans on Danbooru. I agree with NNT; we should use fish_boy.
