Help: Frequently Asked Questions

Here's something that's really bothering me. Rather than just posting a random question as to privileged membership, I actually looked it up and got this.

How can I get a privileged account?

You can't get a privileged account without an invite.

How can I get an invite?

You have to know an existing member. The whole point of the invite system is so that new members are vouched for. Handing out invites to strangers defeats that purpose.

So my question is this: how does this system even work? I referred a friend of mine who wanted a good place to find uncommon anime pictures, so... what's beyond this?

Most of the answers on this forum are along the lines of "Read everywhere on the forums, it's full of replies to that question." But no one has actually given an answer that I could find that didn't already point me towards the FAQ.

Many, many threads asking that are available. To get it you just have to contribute good stuff. Helpful comments, good posts, translations, etc. Until then, you can still see all the rating:safe images.

That part of the FAQ is slightly unclear. It should say 'You have to know an existing privileged member.' instead of just member, since only a privileged member has invites, not a regular member (such as yourself).

The way it works right now is that privileged members occasionally invite regular members when they feel that they are contributing to danbooru (i.e. posting good images/translations), even if they don't know the member personally. And that's the answer that has been reiterated many times on the boards.
