Greyscale Solidification

Posted under Tags

BUR #4749 has been rejected.

mass update greyscale spot_color -> spot_color -greyscale
mass update greyscale partially_colored -> partially_colored -greyscale
mass update greyscale flat_color -> flat_color -greyscale

By definition, greyscale images contain no color. Images with portions colored should be covered by spot_color, partially_colored, and/or the heresy we refer to as monochrome.

I think I agree with this request now but prior to the grey theme tag I would have disagreed.

The reason was that greyscale was an older version of the grey theme tag and there was no way to find mostly grey images with a spot color in them but tagging is more polished now.

Greyscale spot color is in need of a serious cleanup before this goes through, in what world is post #4348521 spot color?

This example doesn't prove, that greyscale spot_color needs a cleanup, but both of them. It's not greyscale either, so if greyscale is removed from that image, spot color still needs to be removed anyway by your opinion. The BUR doesn't change anything about the outcome of this, it only takes away some extra work.

Isn't that a spot color? The character is drawn in black and white, red is used as a spot color to pop the eyes and blood, there's a simple blue background for contrast. Help me out here.

I would argue its limited palette since there is so much color. Spot color is suppose to be smaller right?

Against greyscale flat_color -> flat_color -greyscale because more than half of them are actually greyscale.
Against greyscale spot_color -> spot_color -greyscale because I think most users would want something like post #4459215 to be included when searching for greyscale.
greyscale partially_colored seems to contain many mistags that should be spot color or limited palette.
In conclusion I think if something is to be done here it should be done manually.
