So, there is this tag called nekomata and right now it appears to be a substitute tag for cat tail + two tails since most images under the nekomata tag fits the latter. Examples are most Rin posts from Touhou, like post #4408150.
So, it seems that clarification about the usage of the tag is needed.
A nekomata is a japanese cat spirit with two tails. post #320029 is a cat with two tails, but we're not supposed to tag animals with animal_tail, so...
Nekomata is basically just "cat girl v2".
The wiki does make it clear that it's supposed to have two tails, but:

Unb is right. Species, profession, and class tagging are all rife with people tagging canon. Touhou is often a major offender.

Post count for touhou nekomata: 3099
Post count for touhou nekomata -two_tails : 1800
Post count for cat_tail two_tails -nekomata : 1105
Something like post #4373996 has the tag because it's the character's name, but lacks two tails.
post #2910966, and several others of that character, is a Halloween costume the game labels nekomata.
post #4070721 doesn't even have commentary or the pixiv tag.
This isn't the only "race" tag that needs significant gardening and a big bold "Only tag when..." added to it's wiki. Rin and the other characters would also need a similar notice.even though nobody reads wikis...

You can do cat + two tails to get the non-human versions. But it would be annoying to need two different searches for the same thing. For users, at least. ~ is a wonderful tool.

Looking at the tags, I think this is a necktie -> nekomata autocomplete fail on my part, feel free to disregard that post.
Add like exception: Kemono Friends felines, do not count like cat girls, more like girls with animal ears, mostly of this characters has 2 pairs of ears in multiple cases, very visibles in Kemono Friends: anime (serval and the 99% of the animals), KF3 (very noticiable when take pictures in photo mode (all friends except meerkat and vampire bat)

Ok I didn't really take forked tails into account as single tails, but anyway I thought at least adding this cat_tail implication makes sense, and I'll update the nekomata wiki to emphasize forked tails =/= multiple tails.

Cats can be nekomata too, and we don't tag cats with cat_tail.
