About paid rewards

Posted under General

I'm aware about all the changes related to paid_rewards and I want to propose (or confirm if already exists) a couple of ideas.

The first one is about uploading content already deleted since the ban. As you well know, when you try to upload something that is already here (using the MD5 as key) the site tells you, well, that is already here. You can proceed then to search it with the MD5 to see it. The idea now is that for images that were banned for being a paid reward the site tells you precisely that as well. Something like "This image has already been uploaded and is been identified as a paid_reward for more info bla bla bla...". Maybe add a little warning also. I can't tell if something like this is already implemented, considered or viable.

The second one is with the search itself. When you search a post using the MD5 and is a MD5_mismatch you only get a "nobody here but us chickens". The idea is that for a MD5 related to a paid reward you would get a message like "This post it's been deleted for being identified as a paid reward".

I think this would help to let the users know about the new policy and clarify why a post does not shows up with a MD5 search.
So. what do you think?

The data for paid rewards (and other banned posts) can still be queried and is shown as hidden where applicable: try the search md5:1ce85f99a22569e966587d9289fddc79. If you're not an approver it should tell you that a post exists but has been hidden because it's a paid reward.

The only issue is that the similar search is bound to your account's privileges, so for example this won't show the paid reward for most users. But it's a wider issue because for example for member level users it won't show anything, because it's all loli.
