Should the tag be "shu_honyuu" or "zhu_hongyu"?

Not really sure what the rules are for Chinese names but it seems like she has no Chinese connection outside of cooking (though it might be than she's from China?); meanwhile she has a Kansai accent and her name is based on either the medaka (Japanese Rice Fish) or the Japanese name for the Jonathon cultivar of apple.

So I guess the Chinese connection is so tentative that we go with the Japanese rendering? I was gonna say it's like Chun Meiyui or something... we can always change it later.

Well, the point is that both the fish and the apple would be pronounced "kougyoku", so the name itself is the best evidence for the Chinese connection. I would guess that she is descended from a Chinese family that moved to Japan some time ago, and she herself grew up in the Kansai area.

In any case, in absence of a clearcut rule I guess we should go with the Japanese rendering, since that's what the western (and presumably the Japanese) fanbase is more familiar with. Chun Meiyui is also a good precedent. (Incidentally, Meiyui's Chinese connection is canonical.)
