create alias witch_costume -> witch

There is no way to tell whether a character is a "real" or fake witch without resorting to canon. Typically this tag is used in conjunction with halloween but if someone wants halloween costumes they can just search for witch halloween.

EDIT: The bulk update request #3854 (forum #175440) has been approved by @evazion.

The sad thing is, witch_costume is probably the more reliable tag for finding characters who are actually dressed as stereotypical witches. The witch tag is too often contaminated by completely different outfits like post #3535810 and post #3582506 and post #4139470.

I agree that we don't need two tags for what in principle should amount to the same thing, though.

If we only imply witch costume to witch, we could use witch costume as "wearing witch clothes", and witch as "having witch elements" (black cat, magic, potions, ...). I think it would be a useful distinction to make, to also be able to find "unorthodox witches".

Alternatively we could go on a pure "tag what you see, not what you know" rule and make witch costume the main tag, but i don't think anyone would want that.

Those cases should just be cleaned up. Just as you wouldn't tag someone as a maid or a nurse or a teacher just because it's their job, even when they're not wearing the outfit, you shouldn't tag someone as a witch if they're not dressed as a witch. This is what tag what you see means.

We don't normally make a distinction between the real thing versus someone just wearing a costume for most other tags. Notice how things like succubus and zombie exist, but succubus costume and zombie costume don't.
