Pointless Pools

Looks pointless because they're all tagged as 'Kangoku_senkan'

That does sound pointless since all those images are also tagged game_cg, so it's identical to searching game_cg kangoku_senkan.

It would make sense to keep it if we had a policy of accepting whole CG sets (so you could get them all in one pool, properly ordered), but we don't so the pool is indeed pointless.

^^ agreed. To be fair, though, I think that user created the pool when the expression-chart art meme was just catching on in the Touhou fandom, and the expression tag probably hadn't been created/proliferated yet.

The reason is that those follow a fixed format and are a part of a specific meme, so they aren't just any pictures that match "touhou" and "expressions". Even if currently the matches are the same, there's a semantic difference.

Why don't you guys make it to where only privileged accounts or contributor accounts can start pools? That would certainly cut down on useless pools. Or only members that posts don't need modded. If someone below contributor wants a pool, they could get approved if they are actually useful.

And discourage people from making pools? That's both stupid and pointlessly mean to regular members.

Except... they aren't? Many of them are the same twelve-box format as post #372671, but hardly all of them (recently a bunch of 'Expressions 35' posts have been added to it; I do understand pool #630 exists for the reason you mentioned.) If the pool is supposed to be specific to that one format of expressions picture, the name and description should be changed to clarify that, because people are adding 'touhou expressions' posts to it without regard to format.

Nor is that format peculiar to Touhou, with Konata in post #366241, Ange in post #390348, etc.

How? Regular members are subject to moderation already, whats wrong with having pools approved first? Pools aren't made nearly as often as pictures are posted.

Redundant and can easily be emulated just by searching for sengoku_basara and tsuchibayashi_makoto . Not even sure why I made the pool back then in the first place.

If they're in the same order as the artbook it would be a relevant pool but I can't even tell.

They're not. Some images are out of order but I can't re-order them either since I made the pool as private before my current account as I ended up resetting the password and locked myself out of my previous account.

I made pool #24 public, so you can hopefully change the order to be correct now (if you do, it's a valid pool and in fact one of the main uses for pools on danbooru).

I can say with some confidence that more pools don't get made that need to be made than the other way around.

I don't think there's a major epidemic of pointless pools. There are some, but I don't think we need to restrict access to making them.

Hopefully people will realize that tag subscriptions and favorites are a much more logical way to handle their personal favs than making an extraneous pool.
