I would still call those pointy ears tbh, even if we can't see the pointy ends.

In other words: Rather than nuking this implication, it's better to ask if the elf tag is necessary.
Right now I would even suggest to nuke the elf tag. If the only way to tell that an elf is an elf is the pointy ears, it´s becoming useless. Searching for elf will get you no actual concept, just some girls with pointy ears who look nothing alike and not because they´re clearly night- or dark elves.
For example Emilia from Re:Zero should be an elf, so she get tagged as one. But what does she have to do with saren_(princess_connect!)? No visible concept thats searchable.
My suggestion would be, to make the elf tag an umbrella tag for clear traits we know about, like dark elves, night elves or even wood elves have. Maybe even highelves, which all have some clear concept for example glowing eyes, other skin colors, other hair colours etc. Without a specific concept, the tag itself gets useless. It´s not even helpful for everyting that´s not a vampire, demon girl etc, because there are still characters with pointy ears, that are not tagged as an elf, because they´re just none.

Technically, she is said to be an half-elf (up until the sixth volume at least, I have yet to read the others). However, even if she was, I don't think being canonically an elf should implicate the elf tag. For example, in post #2980950, we don't even see that Emilia has pointy ears, but she is tagged as an elf. That's meta, since you wouldn't know without reading the novel or watching the anime. Incidentally, she is also tagged as having pointy_ears because of the elf->pointy_ears implication.

We don't have tags for wood elves, but I would support the creation of this tag. But in this case, I don't think an umbrella would be necessary (we can search for *_elf).
