Male underwear discussion

Posted under General

The male underwear tags are currently these according to the male_underwear tag:

boxers
boxer briefs
briefs
bikini briefs
fundoshi
jockstrap
undershirt

There are a couple of things I would like discussed regarding this matter:

1) I have noticed that all general tags that start with "male" are unintuitive for new and older users. I would suggest changing male_underwear to something like underwear_(male) so that it's easier to find (and eventually decide whether to do the same for similar tags like male_masturbation)

2) Aside from undershirt (which can be outwear) shouldn't all the above tags implicate male_underwear?

The implication would result in two things.

  • It gives us the ability to search for all male underwear in one search using only two tags (male_focus + male_underwear).
  • It makes tagging easier (you don't have to remember two tags) and makes male_underwear a more useful tag.

While I do agree that it looks uglier, it is much more practical.

It's more likely that a user (especially newer ones or ones that aren't used to uploading male_focus content) will only think of underwear generally. This change would be a quick solution to that.

I'm not familiar with females wearing male underwear like fundoshi. I'll wait for others to have a say on that first.

I kind of agree on making a underwear_(male) alias to male_underwear along with the other male tags (and maybe the future female ones too if we are moving in that direction) to make these tags show in the autocomplete.

+1 for fundoshi implicating male underwear. It IS a male specific underwear, and by logic someone searching for women in male underwear, for example, would prefer for fundoshi to be included, as they are not a typical woman attire (unless you're an avid weeb who only knows of them from anime).

Would that mean those posts should be tagged as crossdressing? It feels weird to tag one but not the other.
