Is there any way to blacklist user uploaded images?

A/ Why should not the chaps who like this have a Gaybooru ? It could even be run as a subdomain of this at virtually no cost, since the pictures transferred there would merely be using the same space and bandwidth previously used here.

I'm not suggesting moving all gay images there, bishounen etc. could still be here for the curious; just that if people want the strong stuff they should more naturally upload their wad there rather than here.

.

B/ Why not have a blacklist button in Options to easily and swiftly blacklist any artist ?

Instead of having to go to Account/Settings/scroll_down/add/save for each damn thing. It's fine blocking entire hobbies, like Torture, or genres like Superman; but when there are so many artists...

A: I'm really not big on bara myself but why exactly should that kind of content be moved to a different booru? It's anime styled art of anime-related characters, it just happens to focus heavily on buff dudes, and that's not everyone's cup of tea. Blacklist the bara tag, that'll hide the vast majority of it, and that's the end of the story really.

B: A quick "add tag to black-list" would be useful, that I agree.

I'm considering changing the frontpage from newest posts to popular posts (order:rank). The broader problem is that the frontpage has no curation or quality control and has always been prone to flooding by individual uploaders.

I'll echo others' feelings about not wanting such a change to the front page - or, if such a change happens, that it be an option I can toggle in my profile to stay on the current "front page is new stuff" setting.

About modifying blacklists, the userscript Safelist Plus (topic #14221) can help with that (shameless plug).

With it, you can Pull your current blacklist onto the posts page, update it, and then Push it back to Danbooru, so no need to go to the Settings page for each change. One thing is that the Push function is disabled/hidden by default since it could accidentally override a user's blacklist if they aren't prepared (though it does also prompt the user before sending the blacklist to the server). To enable this function, the Write mode enabled setting needs to be enabled on the userscript settings page (My Account >> Settings >> Userscript Menus).

Besides the quick update to blacklists, it also has several other uses that are more thoroughly documented on the OP for the topic listed above.

You’ve got a few broken entries in there, though:

Thanks, shall check. Not that anything bad happened so far...

Sadly, as with many of more outre modernisms every day, I have never even heard of Bara... Thanks.

And most members won't know of all the terms that could be blocked in an ideal world either. Merely being 'anime' should not be a qualification...

Anyway, every day I visit artists' pages and look up the deleted images each time. Most of these are quite innocuous, regardless of sexuality ( however vanilla and ...a moderator did not feel this met Danbooru standards they may be ), it seems rather doubtful that having all of them [ minus the criteria on my prim list --- who wants to see little quadruple amputee girls being raped ? or older members might remember a few years back some hideous Yukkuri abuse which sadism is actually psychologically depressing ] thrown back en masse into the whole would be more off-putting for casual visitors than large men enjoying themselves with one hand.

Very interesting. Would prefer a button; but will definitely look at that [ until one day my button will come... ]. The trouble with so many utterly excellent solutions is that they are inaccessible --- one doesn't know what one doesn't know --- and therefore these solutions are non-intuitive to new or old users.

So on a site where the uploaded content can range from Pokémon sex to blackmail rape and gangbangs, as well as other such more or less depraved things, "large men" is where you draw the line of "off-putting for casual visitors". Neat.

uploaderid:##### did the trick! Thanks for this!

Actually, it is only a single uploader whose been uploading these kind of images. So whenever a new muscle yaoi-related image pops-up in Danbooru, I would assume that it's him/her, and I'd be right. So it would be better to blacklist the uploader than blacklisting multiple artists.

Also, Claverhouse's point B is a very nice idea.

So now the front page can be nothing but porn and pinups? No thanks.

Unless you're planning on implementing some sort of score weighting like albert did in topic #1413, making order:rank the default view will only make Danbooru even more attractive to the types of people who are only interested in this site as a source of jerkoff material, because that's what consistently gets the highest scores and most favorites. Making already-popular posts even more visible risks creating a feedback loop: newcomers will see a front page saturated with porn, assume Danbooru is a porn site, and sign up for the purpose of uploading more porn. This already happens to an extent, but keeping it on the front page for longer can only amplify the issue.

Even with weighting that favors Safe posts, however, I'd still be against this because it promotes popular posts over quality posts. I take issue with any system that would keep scenic art like post #4025698 off the front page and buried under fetish art like post #4025318. Yes, I'm biased.

The term you're looking for is "ghetto".

EDIT: fixed typo.

See my use of the blacklist.

However I doubt if Pokemon sex is that offensive, the genre barely interests me, but no doubt it adds to the pleasure of Pokemonists [ a few years back when the powers were still monstering the last Labour leader Corbyn as a deranged stalinist ideologue like Suslov or Beria, the uncomprehending man was goaded into being taught the Mystery of Pokemon Go. It did not go well... ] But even allowing that much of the rape stuff [ which I do not collect ] is vile, these 'Bara' images are so damn awful. And mostly the same nonstop.

And as well for the rape and little girl sex stuff, however much I detest Artists banning themselves from Danbooru, and deny their right to do so once the image is out there, I'm gonna see they have a point...

Not really. Subdomains have a long and venerable history on the Internet.

Plus it would, in this case, be self-run, just like the original ghettos [ many of whose ( religious ) leaders insisted on inhabitants not leaving or mingling with the profane ] --- I imagine that those wanting such things would love having a league of their own, where they can easily see their preference without having to resort to advanced tag-use to avoid tall willowy girls in floating dresses or tiny chibis doing chibi stuff.

Might be a good idea to at least make it an option in Settings.

I hope you realize that some people liking a thing has absolutely nothing to do with it's overall reception to the casual individual, i.e. just because some people like Pokemon sex does not in any way make it any more or less palatable to any random casual visitor of the site in comparison to any other potentially unpalatable thing. I'm not even sure what point the rest of this was making besides, "buff gay men are worse than rape" Could you keep the tangents to a minimum?
