Upgrading

So a while ago the banners went up saying "Upgrade your account for only $20!" With a link to the comparison of the account types.
However! To upgrade your account you yourself have to go to a different website, login there with your danbooru account, then upgrade using credit card. No other payment options available.

I truly think it makes no sense to put up the banner advertising upgrading when the process is so strict and convoluted. I am not able to upgrade because I have no creditcard. Creditcards are somewhat rare to own where I am (western europe) so many possibly paying users are missed out here.

If the devs were to smooth out and simplify the process, I'm 100% certain there will be a sizeable increase in updates. Why does this not have more priority? Its been like this with the banner for over a year, possible for a few years.

Make your product easier to consume and more will do so.

Because it's not possible. Danbooru is too pornographic for monetary processors like PayPal or Stripe, and thus the only way we skirt around that problem is to take you to the Safebooru.donmai.us domain (if you go to the Safebooru.org website, you're no longer on our website) where the porn is filtered out and one company lets us take credit card payments through it.

Would anyone make the process of receiving money difficult on purpose? I'm sure if you could provide the devs with a reputable monetary service with fees near those of the standard credit card processors that handle bank/debit transfers and won't blackball us for being a porn site, they'd be happy to look into it.

But even on safebooru you cant pay with Paypal or Stripe. I dont know how this works on other porn sites but I cant imagine every pornhub premium user, every pornographic patreon supporter, every onlyfans account holder having a creditcard, right? I genuinely dont know since I've never tried to pay for any such service before.

Have I got news for you. EVERY one of those require a credit card. Pornhub premium, onlyfans, patreon, pixiv premium, deviantart core to name a few. Nearly ALL online sites that offer some sort of premium account/upgrade service require a credit card. And even if they offered a different way of obtaining a premium account service (like deviantart's points), those still have to be bought with money via--guess what? Card.

Exactly what I said. They refuse to work with us due to the pornographic content.

Onlyfans also does not have paypal support. Paypal does not like porn.
