[BUR] coffee cups

BUR #2539 has been rejected.

mass update coffee_cup -> disposable_coffee_cup
remove implication coffee_cup -> disposable_cup
create implication disposable_coffee_cup -> disposable_cup

Reason: Because frankly, I'm getting sick of having to clean it up all the time.

Uploaders get this tag wrong just as often as they get it right. The term "coffee cup" is so strongly associated with porcelain cups that it's unreasonable to expect everyone to use the tag otherwise. I've tried to be patient with this tag, mentioning it in topic #14603 and even DMailing friendly reminders to uploaders who repeatedly misuse it, but it's obvious now that it isn't going to get any better.

Instead of calling them a "coffee cup", would it not be better to be more neutral and call them either a "hot cup" or "hot beverage cup"? The same disposable cups are used for any kind of hot beverage, weather you order coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or even hot apple cider the shop will be serving them in the same cups.

TBH I don't care what the replacement tag is called as long as it's something less misleading than coffee_cup. The very existence of this tag was a mistake.

Maybe it's time to clean up the cup/mug tags as a whole.
That tagging category is a complete and utter mess.

I agree we need a better name here. I'm not sure about hot cup though, it's not a term I've heard before (maybe this is a regional thing), and also some disposable coffee cups are plastic for cold drinks like frappuccinos or iced coffee.

What about going back to having paper cup and plastic cup and using paper cup + coffee for paper coffee cups? We would lose some granularity in that paper cup would include more than just this specific type of sleeved paper coffee cup, but we would gain granularity in that you could search either paper_cup coffee or plastic_cup coffee to find different types of disposable coffee cup.

Honestly I had never heard of "hot cup" either before looking around and saw some retail places labeling them as such. I'd honestly prefer "disposable hot beverage cup" (or perhaps "disposable hot drink cup").

If you went the paper_cup route, you could probably retain most of the granularity by making these a subtag like "paper_cup_with_lid" or "lidded_paper_cup". Could also just have a more general "cup_with_lid" or "lidded_cup" tag could use together with either paper or plastic cup tags. We could also tag the paper sleeve, but I don't think it's necessary since they're almost always used together with the paper cup and lid.

I don't think the lid would make much of a difference in this case, because fast food soda cups are just as likely to have lids as take-out coffee cups. If you look at a disposable_cup -coffee_cup -bubble_tea -frappuccino search or the posts formerly tagged soda_cup, you'll see that the vast majority of them have lids. For the same reason, adding coffee to a search isn't a reliable solution for finding these cups, because very few of them have visible coffee.

If it's worth preserving the distinction between sleeved hot beverage cups and ordinary paper cups, we'd be better off focusing on the paper sleeve itself because it's the biggest visible difference. Call it sleeved_paper_cup or something like that.
