remove alias bike_shorts_under_skirt -> shorts_under_skirt
If bike_shorts are not shorts, then this alias is incorrect.
On the other hand, if bike_shorts are shorts, then bike_shorts should imply shorts.

I use shorts related tags for them since they are similar enough to me, this was touched upon in topic #15287
I'm in support of removing the alias. I believe shorts and pants in general are tags for clothing in which it is implied you're supposed to wear underwear with. Given that is not the case with compression shorts (and even more so for the subtype called bike shorts), I don't think they should be considered the same thing.

Same. I also really don't want a separate set of tags just for bike shorts. Like I said in the topic you linked, a loose_shorts tag or something similar could always be created, that way the shorts tag could act as an umbrella tag.

I don't necessarily disagree... but loose shorts also seems quite contrived, doesn't it? Shouldn't shorts_under_skirt -bike_shorts work well enough? I don't think "loose shorts" is really a concept people think of since "loose shorts" are more or less the default. It seems odd to require an extra tag for the default case.
I also feel that "bike shorts" are legitimately used in different situations than regular shorts are in most cases. They aren't quite underwear, but they aren't typical outerwear either.

On the one hand, we usually treat bike shorts as separate from shorts for other tags, which supports removing this alias. On the other hand, nearly half of bike shorts posts are tagged as shorts, especially because of things like the black shorts -> shorts and shorts under skirt -> shorts implications, so trying to keep them separate is kind of a lost cause.
BUR #3603 has been rejected.
create implication dolphin_shorts -> shorts
Consistency with other tags.
Bike shorts seem to be controversial, and boxers are underwear, so I think this might be the only tag missing this implication.
