Jacket or Coat?

Currently coat_on_shoulders is aliased to jacket_on_shoulders, and naked_jacket is aliased to naked_coat.
To make matters worse, jacket_on_shoulders implies jacket, so a post like post #3868075 has both the coat and jacket tag.

According to the coat wiki, a coat and a jacket are two different things. But the naked_coat wiki says that a jacket is a sub-type of coat.

I feel like a clear definition should be made once and for all, to also restore consistency.

I'd like to see consistency between the tags where "jacket" and "coat" are merged, but I also want to make sure that this doesn't become a precedent for merging of the tags where they aren't/shouldn't be, or lead to the introduction of confusing terminology like "outerwear".

Naked coat is simply being misused in my opinion, it is true that jackets and coats are different but most users here either don't care or know the difference between the two coughguitarsandbassescough. My personal proposition would be mass updating the tag into something like naked jacket to avoid nuking it, at least in that case the jackets would far outweight the coats so it'd be easier to rule those out and probably move them back in the initial tag. But again, I think a big problem is the lack of knowledge from most taggers/users in here.

It's being misused because naked jacket is aliased to it, even though coats and jackets are treated as different things elsewhere in the tags. The question being asked is what should be done to make the tags consistent.

I'm in favor of keeping the two completely separate, they're not that hard to tell apart and the wikis do a good job defining them. If it's decided to merge them, however, I would vote for aliasing jackets to coats as a subset. Would really rather not go that route, though.

remove alias coat_over_shoulders -> jacket_on_shoulders
create implication naked_jacket -> jacket
create implication naked_coat -> coat

An alias i missed, plus some implication.
