How about adding a small space to account descriptions that allow people to say a little about themselves?

I'm sure it would put a more human face to some of the posters we see all the time.

Limited to 20 words or less to prevent people from being too talkative.

I'm just trying to imagine all the users with descriptions in bad Japanese with xDDDDDDDDDDD >.< ^^ bullshit. I don't like the idea.

I'm a pretty big fan of faceless users.

Instead of that, I'd rather have a way to keep up with whatever comments a user is making. That would say more about a person than a personal introduction to me.

You mean something besides going to that person's profile, and clicking on the number beside "comments"?

Yeah, the comment searching feature is more than enough to "put a face" on the people here.

I don't know, that sounds like it would be a useful moderation tool.

Its true that this feature would be completely abusable by people who write stupid stuff, but they do that in the comments anyway.

Not just to find the SUPER KAWAII DESU DESU users either; spam accounts would likely have their site url in there, so mods could single them out and kick them before they have the chance to dirty up our nice website.

Me, I'm about 50/50 on the idea. It's not bad and it's not like I'd be forced to use it anyways, but if we did anything to further 'personalize' users I'd be more for something like being able to link to little 60x60 user icons over self-descriptions. A picture is worth a thousand words as they say.

Anything I would want to know about a danbooru uploader I can find out through their comments & upload/tagging habits.

I'm all for implementing that and then autobanning anyone who fills in their description. If you really feel the need to socialise here, you're missing the point and should be dwelling on myspace or facebook or whatever shit is popular amongst kids right now.

It wasn't, previously. It's been accessible for a little while now, but it's still a relatively recent addition.

Well, I guess scratch that idea!
